Spirits Selection 2026: 3 international awards for Heihuyzen Estate
Belgian gin and jenever from the Antwerp Campine receive international recognition
Heihuyzen Estate from Oostmalle achieved three international quality awards during Spirits Selection 2026, organized by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB).
During this international competition, which took place from October 16 to 18, 2026, no fewer than 2,300 spirits were evaluated by an international professional jury.
Our C-Gin – Inspired by the Sea, Mastentoppen Jenever, and M-Gin – Inspired by Nature each received the official CMB Merit 2026 award.
With scores of 88.2, 88.0, and 87.6 points out of 100 respectively, these results confirm the quality and exceptional character of our Belgian spirits.
Three CMB Merit awards at Spirits Selection 2026
During Spirits Selection 2026, the international professional jury evaluated the participating spirits on criteria including their aromas, taste, balance, complexity, and overall harmony.
C-Gin – Inspired by the Sea | 88.2/100 – CMB Merit 2026
Our C-Gin – Inspired by the Sea is a refined Belgian gin, inspired by the Belgian coast.
Sea buckthorn berries and carefully selected aromatic herbs provide a fresh and characterful flavor profile.
The international jury’s description included:
- Fruity aromas with notes of raspberry.
- Spicy nuances of white pepper, nutmeg, coriander, and thyme.
- Well-integrated alcohol and a pleasant balance.
With 88.2/100, C-Gin achieved the highest score of our three awarded spirits.
Mastentoppen Jenever | 88.0/100 – CMB Merit 2026
Our Mastentoppen Jenever is an exceptional Belgian jenever with a strong connection to the nature of Heihuyzen Estate.
Pine cones from the estate’s forests are among the ingredients used for this creation. Aging on oak wood gives the jenever additional depth and character.
The international jury’s description included:
- Warm aromas of caramel and chocolate.
- Notes of roasted coffee.
- A soft, velvety texture.
With 88.0/100, Mastentoppen Jenever also received a CMB Merit award.

M-Gin – Inspired by Nature | 87.6/100 – CMB Merit 2026
Our M-Gin – Inspired by Nature finds its inspiration in the forests and nature of the historic Heihuyzen Estate.
With botanicals such as pine cone, sweet gale, and blackberries, this Belgian gin reflects the natural character of the Antwerp Campine.
The international jury appreciated, among other things:
- Aromatic notes of pine resin and juniper.
- Spicy nuances of rosemary and verbena.
- A smooth taste with a long finish.
With 87.6/100, M-Gin also received the official CMB Merit award.
What does a CMB Merit award mean?
The CMB Merit award is an international quality recognition for spirits that achieve a score of at least 86 points out of 100 and fall just outside the top 33% globally.
According to the organization, this recognition confirms the remarkable quality of a product, as assessed by an international jury of experts.
The fact that three spirits from Heihuyzen Estate received this award is, for us, a special confirmation of the quality of our Belgian gin and jenever.

Inspired by Nature – the story behind Heihuyzen Estate
We find the inspiration for our spirits at the historic Heihuyzen Estate in Oostmalle, in the heart of the Antwerp Campine.
The vast forests, the nature, and the unique history of the estate form the basis of our philosophy: Inspired by Nature.
For several of our creations, botanicals and natural ingredients are carefully selected and partly hand-gathered on the estate.
In collaboration with the Belgian distillery Sterkstokers in Sint-Lenaarts, we translate these ingredients and our own recipes into characterful Belgian spirits with a recognizable Heihuyzen identity.
In this way, we connect the nature and heritage of our estate with Belgian craftsmanship.
