\n\t\n\t\tThe Heihuyzen Private Foundation was established on October 3, 2005, at the initiative of Mr. Godfroy Lenaerts to protect the estate, which had been in the family for generations, from being split up and divided through inheritances.\t<\/span>\n<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Heihuyzen estate was formerly owned by the Talon family, as evidenced by the Talon Drive<\/a> of the same name in Oostmalle. Between 1850 and 1865, the Brussels notary family Gustave van Merstraeten and his father George purchased the lands from the Talon family. Gustave had 3 children: George, Idesbalde, and Marie.
Idesbalde had neither wife nor children and sold his share around 1934 to the Ackermans family.

Marie married Paul Degroux. And George, married to Marie Louise Pourbaix, was the father of Alice and Marguerite van Merstraeten.
Marguerite also did not marry and therefore had no direct heirs. Alice married Armand Lenaerts, with Godfroy Lenaerts as their only child. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    The Heihuyzen Private Foundation<\/b> has an external board of directors<\/b> that is managed independently<\/b> from the Lenaerts family. Christophe Lenaerts<\/b> maintains regular contact with the board of directors<\/b> regarding the management of the estate<\/b> and to support the financial aspects<\/b> by managing the estate like a business<\/b>, with a focus on sufficient income<\/b> so that it can operate independently<\/b>.<\/p>

    An additional function<\/b> for the private foundation<\/b> that is championed by Christophe Lenaerts<\/b> is the ecological aspect<\/b>. He strives to make the estate<\/b> serve as an example<\/b> of the balance between the 3 pillars<\/b> of ecology<\/b>, economy<\/b>, and enjoyment<\/b> in Flanders<\/b> and even Europe<\/b>. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
